How We Screen and Credential Cosmetic Surgeons

American Cosmetic Surgery Network uses screening guidelines similar to those set forth by National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC) guidelines. These organizations are accreditation entities that apply quality measurement protocols to determine if physicians meet certain education, licensing, and quality standards. All physicians participating with ACSN must go through the credentialing process.

The following information is requested from prospective ACSN providers and must be completed/submitted in full by physicians for network consideration:

NCQA Criteria

  • Provider identification
  • Malpractice carrier info
  • Malpractice history
  • Professional status
  • Education
  • Hospital affiliations
  • Licensing and registrations, including DEA
  • NPDB inquiry
  • Provider questionnaire
  • Attestation to truthfulness
